All the PROTOTAL^®products are passive elements , which means that they do not need to be connected to any external electrical or fuel source in order to function. They operate by picking up small variations in potential differences which are produced in the atmosphere in moments of stormy weather.

This fact has two important consequences:

1. - No energy consumption. There is no connection to the electrical network.

2. - They are not radiation elements. There is no dissipation of radiation of any type and they are totally harmless to the human body.

Question: But if the Lightning does not fall, does the cloud stay “charged” ?

Answer:   When the Lightning finds a place to discharge its energy, the PROTOTAL  Inhibitor  converts the protected zone into a “transparent” zone. The effect is the same as making the protected area disappear and consequently making whatever point that could attract or provoke a Lightning fall disappear.

Responding to the same question, the Inhibitor even lessens the possibility of a Lightning fall because part of the electro-static energy is canalised and discharged safely by way of the mini-discharges which take place inside the equipment’s head-set.

Question: Does this mean that the Lightning is deviated onto the neighbour’s house ?
                                                                      
Answer:  No. The possibilities of the Lightning falling on the neighbour are at the worst, the same as if the Inhibitor had not even been installed. Moreover, if the neighbour is sufficiently near the protected building, the possibility of a Lightning fall would be even less likely, being within the range of the protective  PROTOTAL^® action .
